About
MY BACKGROUND
With a passion for building things, I posses both the skill set and technical experience necessary to dive deep into the design, analysis and manufacture of complex mechanical systems. I have both the skill set and professional background necessary to dive deep into the engineering world. As an upbeat, self-motivated team player with excellent communication, I envision an exciting future in the industry. Browse my site to see all that I have to offer.
Projects
CleanSat
Capstone design project where we designed and modelled a satellite that targets and deorbits five Zenit SL-16 rocket bodies in Lower Earth Orbit (LEO). For this project, a mother satellite was designed containing five satellite modules known as sweepers, one for each rocket body.
The CleanSat contains 12 complex subsystems each designed by a member of the team. I was responsible for the attachment subassembly which allows for sweeper attachment onto the rocket body to begin the deobrit process. The assembly ultilized electroadhesion panels with integrated MFC actuators allowing for attachment onto most curved surfaces. The panels are connected to a telescoping boom. Static and dynamic analysis was conducted to simulate launch conditions using ANSYS APDL along with torsional analysis on the sweeper to ensure structural rigidity when despinning the rocket body in preperation for deorbit.
Wear-a-Bike
Personal project worked with two other members attempting to design a manual trasnportation device that a user can wear and walk around with ease and comfort, as inspired by ROLLERMAN and the wearable chair. The Wear-a-Bike is manufactured out of laser cut plywood members with custom milled aluminum support members. The front fork was obtained from a unicycle and welded onto the front beam. The fork contains hinge clamps with epoxied 3D printed sleeves allowing for the front wheel to clamp onto the clamps securely.
AlarmBot
A security patrol mobile robot that monitors a given area and detects for intruders via real time object detection. Once a intruder is spotted, an alarm is sounded to intimidate the intruder and alert its user of a trespasser. Robot Operating System (ROS) and YOLOv3 was utilized to build the project. Source code can be found on my GitHub profile here.
Finite Element Method Script
Created various MATLAB scripts that solves for 1D, 2D and 3D FEM problems including static, dynamic and thermal analysis. Started to better learn about the methods behind finite element solutions and the different different equations used for the different types of analysis. The script generates a specficied mesh for a fixed geometry and solves for the weak form of the FEM PDE using Gauss quadrature. The results are visualized in paraview.
